Modelling the load-extension behaviour of plain-knitted fabric part I: a unit-cell approach towards knitted-fabric mechanics
Date
2002-12-01Description
Fundamental modelling of the structure/property relationships of textile structures has been relatively under-achieving; as a result we have been exploring a number of innovative avenues. This paper illustrates a novel method of defining the unit cell of knitted fabrics which has developed significant interest from other groups in this field. This theory was developed primarily from my earlier work on knitted fabrics and was later tested, the results of which are published in parts II and III of this series.
