Time is on the side of the outcast
This lecture draws on a prescient aphorism of Quentin Crisp's: “…time is on the side of the outcast…those who once inhabited the suburbs of human contempt find that without changing their address they eventually live in the metropolis”. Crisp, Q. (1975) The Naked Civil Servant. It charts the journey of alomst twenty years from the scene of the Admiral Duncan pub bombing in 1999, the immediate aftermath of which the author witnessed, to the relative recognition of 2015.
