dc.description.abstract This paper examines the stages of the cost model development process which are shared by the many state-of-the-art techniques and processes, used to facilitate cost estimation within the manufacturing engineering environment. Similarly, a review of mathematical and computational methods of developing cost estimating relationships is undertaken. Finally, the COSTMOD methodology, an enhanced cost model development process, is compared and contrasted to traditional methods. en
