dc.description This chapter makes a significant contribution to the international body of knowledge about research partnerships between academics, service users and community members. It supported the development of training materials for researchers and service users on service user involvement in research, in partnership with regional health authorities and Shaping Our Lives, a national service users' organisation. The work described resulted in changes in policy and practice in managing contact between fostered children and birth parents and the support given to the local Foster Carers’ organisation. It also led to articles in Foster Care and Guardian Society and an international conference presentation. en
